A new combination of monocytic scores to support diagnosis of chronic myelomonocytic leukemia according to novel classifications.

Abstract

Dear Editor, Chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML) is the most frequent form of myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS)/myeloproliferative overlap neoplasms (MPN). Diagnosis of CMML according to the previous World Health Organization (WHO) 2016 classification was based on the presence of persistent absolute (≥1 109/L) and relative (≥10%) peripheral blood monocytosis without meeting genetic criteria for another MPN (i.e., negative for BCR::ABL1, JAK2, CALR or MPL mutations, PDGFRA or PDGFRB rearrangements).
